Rating stars in the scheme: only with number and real ratings
Stars in the hit list come from aggregateRating in the product scheme. Google requires that the rating is documented: a number (ratingcount or reviewcount) and comprehensible individual ratings. An aggregateRating with 4.9 stars and nothing else looks like invented; Google removes such stars and may impose a manual measure against the website. The SEO check area checks this on shop-type pages.
What exactly is checked
For each product in the JSON-LD, the measuring core reads aggregateRating. If neither ratingCount nor reviewCount is above zero and the product has no review entries, the result is with the product name. A product without aggregateRating is fine: no rating is not a mistake.
Why it matters
Google describes in the structured data guidelines that reviews must come from real sources and that the website must not invent the review itself. An evaluation without a number is not testable. If this is discovered, the entire domain loses the stars, not just one side.
- Only output aggregateRating where the rating system has real ratings on exactly this product.
- ratingValue, ratingCount (or reviewCount), bestRating and worstRating from the rating system and attach the individual ratings as review with author, datePublished and reviewRating.
- Products without evaluation do not get a block; Remove an empty or blank aggregateRating from the theme.
- After the change, check a product page in the rich results test: the stars must appear valid.
